“I remembered that night and wanted to try to recapture that amazing spirit I felt while watching him on the dance floor…sort of my little tribute to Paul ‘in his groove,'” Beck says. Subsequently, Beck channeled McCartney’s energy when the former Beatle asked Beck to remix the tune from his McCartney III album, which was created in lockdown and came out in December 2020. “We ended up at some club in West Hollywood and I remember noticing that Paul and Nancy were TEARING IT UP – really enjoying themselves more than anyone else on the dance floor.” “I remember hanging out with Paul and his wife Nancy several years ago and Nancy mentioned that she wanted to go out dancing before calling it a night,” Beck recalls. Recorded earlier this year in Sussex, McCartney III is mostly built from live takes of Paul on vocals and guitar or piano, overdubbing his bass playing, drumming, etc. Before long an eclectic collection of spontaneous songs would become McCartney III: a stripped back, self-produced and, quite literally, solo work marking the opening of a new decade, in the tradition of 1970's McCartney and 1980's McCartney II. This exuberant anthem finds Paul McCartney directly addressing those stressed out by the troubled times. Paul McCartney has shared a video unveiling how the ultra-trippy film clip for his track ‘Find My Way’ came to life. Paul hadn't planned to release an album in 2020, but in the isolation of Rockdown, he soon found himself fleshing out some existing musical sketches and creating even more new ones. 50 years following the release of his self-titled first solo album McCartney, featuring Paul playing every instrument and writing and recording every song, Paul McCartney releases McCartney III. Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing in gatefold jacket.
